Abstract | This article presents an exploration into state of gender and women's history studies in Eastern Europe. The case example of Hungary is given, where strong institutional resistance and lack of leadership prevents the full exploration into the relatively new field of gender studies. Prevalent resistant attitudes of mainstream historiography in Hungary and Eastern Europe are described and criticized. (Copyright applies to all Abstracts.) |
