Changing Behaviour

Project status:
Completed

Full project title:

Contextualising behavioural change in energy programmes involving intermediaries and policymaking organizations working towards CHANGING BEHAVIOUR

Brief description:

CHANGING BEHAVIOUR is an innovative FP7 project to survey, analyse and evaluate residential and small-to-medium enterprise (SME) energy demand side management (DSM) programs. The project addresses a significant research gap by analysing the behavioural aspects of energy demand. It also enhances close cooperation between researchers and practitioners with the purpose of establishing a practical tool to facilitate more effective DSM programs for changing energy use.

The project supports the shift toward end-user services in European energy policy. A practical model of end-user behaviour and stakeholder interaction was developed, creating a toolkit for practitioners to manage the social and technical change involved in demand management programs.

The project was funded by the European Union's FP7 program, and coordinated by the National Consumer Research Centre (Finland).

Key outputs:

Conceptual framework of behaviour related to DSM programs for energy efficiency.
